Photographer Abhishek retreats from the frenetic pulse of the city to the quiet countryside of Chhaya Gram, hoping to rediscover peace and creative renewal. The valley’s timeless beauty—sunlight-drenched fields, whispering hedgerows, and music of sparrows—feels like a balm to his spirit. Yet beneath the pastoral calm lies a superstition whispered among locals: “If the birds stop singing, go home. Don’t look back. Don’t speak until you’re inside.”
One evening, as day collapses into dusk, the world around Abhishek falls unnaturally still. The air thickens, the wind halts, and the songs of the birds vanish. Then come the whispers—familiar voices calling his name, pleading, beckoning him to turn around.
What follows is a harrowing struggle against invisible presences that dwell within “the stillness”—beings from the in-between, who hunt those who break the silence. Abhishek races toward safety, battling his instinct to respond, his sanity unraveling with every step through the suffocating quiet.
By dawn, he learns that survival came at a price: once the stillness finds you, it always remembers. Haunted by half-seen figures and dreams of faceless watchers, Abhishek realizes the curse is cyclical. When the next traveler wanders into Greystone Hollow, drawn by its deceptive tranquility, Abhishek himself will be waiting among the shadows—no longer wholly human.
